Jaantabi was created by Jahman Sillah. The music is a fusion of African and western music whilst maintaining many traditional African elements. Jahman’s debut CD Mory demonstrates this perfectly. During Jahman’s musical career he has developed a unique style which blends the music and culture of many traditions and as a percussionist his rhythmic inventiveness is renowned. Top this with the varied musical backgrounds of the other band members and the result is Jaantabi.
